We all have a happy place, and one of mine has always been Olympia Beauty. This is an annual trade event where beauty, skincare, and some haircare brands showcase their latest products, have demonstrations and so much more.
With it’s enormous gleaming white stand, Dermalogica was the first brand that caught my attention. This was the perfect opportunity for me to educate myself following up from the recommendations I received from our lovely friends at Natural Enhancement.
Dermalogica were performing their signature Face Mapping® which is a skin analysis that provides an insight into the client’s skin - past and present. They also provide a detailed prescription for a home care regime.
My mapping revealed that my skin was simply dehydrated - no other issues - and to my relief, no signs of aging. I received 3 small samples to try at home, PreCleanse, Daily Microfoliant® and their latest product Phyto Replenish Oil. All three are now on my ‘to-buy’ list, as my skin looks undeniably radiant after just one use.
My next stop was to the Dr PawPaw stand where I purchased “Tinted Peach Pink Balm”. This product is perfect for both lips and cheeks, giving a soft peachy tint. With all of its natural healing ingredients it is an absolute must-have ahead of the colder winter months. I also bought “It Does It All, 7 in 1” hair treatment. I was a little apprehensive with this, as most leave in hair treatments make my hair greasy and dull. Thankfully “It Does it All” really does ‘do it all’ and my hair smells and feels incredible!
I wandered around the show, watching many live demonstrations from the likes of Dermpen™, a non-surgical procedure which is ideal for skin tightening, lifting and for the treatment of scars.
One of my favorite demos had to be the luxury natural tanning brand, Marc Inbane. They promise to give flawless tanned skin without the standard ‘carrot effect’. Sadly, I didn’t get to try it but those who did all looked beautiful and as promised - flawless. Yet another product added to my ever-growing ‘to-buy’ list!
Before stocking up on my DIY nail products, I watched some of the exceptionally talented individuals at the Nailympia London. They all produced some of the most sensationally beautiful nail work I have ever seen!
As I was just about to leave, I noticed “Faby” out of the corner of my eye, a brand I have not encountered previously. Totally intrigued, I walked over to satisfy my curiosity. The infectiously happy Brigit explained;
“Faby is a high quality , Italian nail brand built with passion. Cruelty free & vegan friendly. Would you like me to do your nails?”
Of course, my answer was yes and with an overwhelming array of colours to choose from I reverted to an old favorite (pink & sparkly) and in Faby terminology - “What’s Wrong With Pink & A Perfect Day”.
During my file and polish Brigit went on to outline what makes her love the brand, and that as a freelance therapist it’s very different to other brands she has used, partly because it is big 5 free, chip resistant, and super shiny.
During the session one of the owners came over and complemented my nails and said they reminded him of unicorns…. And who doesn’t love unicorns!
A few days on and my nails still haven’t chipped. The colour is bellissimo, so it’s safe to say that this unique Italian brand is a new favourite. Molto Bene!
